Echoes Mystery Crochet-A-Long
I’m partnering with Christa of The Frosted Stitch to bring you a 10 Week FREE Mystery Crochet A Long from October 10 - December 18. All of the pattern will be published on the blog for you to enjoy!
Together we will create a beginner friendly fingering weight shawl. The weekly stitching will be minimal! This MCAL is meant to not compete with your other projects. It’s meat to help you find a use for your mini skeins, use up that sacred skein (You know the one I’m talking about) and/or stash dive and make a scrappy project.
Let’s Talk yarn
This MCAL was designed to use up scraps, mini skeins, or even a special skein of yarn you’ve been holding on to! Not sure you have the right yarns in your collection? No problem. The Frosted Stitch has created kits for you. Let’s go through the options:
Requirements:
~ 1200 yds of fingering weight yarn
One skein of fingering weight yarn - minimum yardage 400yds
Eight mini skeins of fingering weight yarn - minimum weight 20gms
3.5 mm crochet hook
Blocking supplies
Kitchen scale

Can I see the design before we get started?
No. It’s a MYSTERY silly! Trust the process!
WIll there be prizes?

How much to participate?
Zero dollar bucks!
Will this be good for a beginner?
Absolutely. We are only using 3 stitches. The repeat will be simple and easy to memorize. It’s kinda my jam.
How will we stay in touch?
All participants will be encouraged to join my Discord server where we can chat, share progress photos, help with fades, post gifs, etc! I’ll continue to update Instagram and send out emails as the weeks go by. I hope to do a round up of a few projects each week so photo sharing will be encouraged.
Do I have to use yarn from The Frosted Stitch?
Nope! You can use whatever yarn you like. If you would like to participate in the Yarn A Long that The Frosted Stitch is also hosting, a skein from the Echos Collection must be included in your project.

Do I have to use fingering weight yarn?
No! You will likely have to adjust your yardage to continue through the entirety of the MCAL. You can start or stop when you like. Make the shawl whatever size you like.
What if I fall behind or start late or yarn arrives late?
No problem, boo. Join us when you can! All instructions will be posted on the blog for free so you will be able to catch up. The most important thing is that you don’t stress & have fun! If you decide to go hard the first week and life happens, I get it. it happens to us all
Can I use less/more mini skeins?
Absolutely! I will be basing the design on the yardage included in the yarn kits from The Frosted Stitch. You will want to get as close to this yardage as possible to make the desired shawl or be willing to live dangerously and make us the color changes as you go!
I can’t find yarn in those yardages, what do I do?
Don’t worry! In future posts I will show you how to calculate your yarn usage so you can use whatever fingering weight skein you have. Your main fingering weight skein should be at minimum, 400yds. Gauge will be important! Mini skeins are typically 20gms and the yardage can range between 80-93yds. Don’t worry, we will work together and make your yardage work!
